About.

Hello.

ashley best.

studio

I'm Ashley Best, I Currently live and work in Bristol, UK; and I have a passion for sound design and music.

You can hear the sound and music I create on: films, TV, games, apps, the web, CD's, digital download and sometimes at live events. I'm also keen on: animation, motion graphics and web design.

Born into a musical family, I was inspired at an early age. With massive headphones on, I would sit for hours sifting through boxes of dusty cassettes and colourful vinyl, absorbing the sounds I heard. At 5 I could play the piano, at 6 I began experimenting with recording, using an old cassette recorder. I'm a self-taught musician; my main instruments being: keyboards, drums and vocals. From 2005-2008 I studied Music Technology at The University of Huddersfield, where I received a First Class BA (Hons) degree.

The Modules I focused on include: Recording; Sound Design for Picture; Computer Composition; Music & the Moving Image; Interactive Sound Design; Pop Composition & Arranging; Popular Music Studies. Have a look around my site and check out what I've been up to. If you would like help with your project I would love to hear from you!
